Non-Surgical Root Canal Therapy

When root canals become infected through deep cavity, fractured tooth, or traumatic injury, the first procedure is usually to perform non-surgical root canal therapy. Non-surgical therapy entails: a. cleaning out the diseased canal, filling it with biologically inert substance and sealing the canal from further infection. Post-procedure, some patients may experience swelling and soreness, but these can be controlled with over-the-counter analgesics and antibiotics if indicated.
